Found running the Chicago streets, Bear made it through his stray hold and into a cozy foster home, saving two cages at Chicago Animal Care & Control in the process. That’s who he is: the kind of presence that quietly makes things better.
Now he’s ready for his forever.
Bear is 4 years old, about 44 pounds, a lab mix with a soft, soulful way about him. Easygoing, kind hearted, and deeply intuitive, he reads the room before he enters it. He’s not loud about who he is, but you feel it.
Because Bear is a helper.
A builder.
A communicator.
A bridge maker.
He’s the dog who brings energies together, who settles a room, who makes other dogs feel safe and people feel understood. Not every dog has that kind of magic, but Bear does. It’s steady. It’s natural. It’s rare.

Adoption fees: Dogs: $600, Bonded pairs: $900; Cats: $250, Pair: $325.
Fees include vaccinations, microchip, deworming and other vetting as needed. Our adoption process includes an application, reference check and home visit. Please note all adoption fees are final and non-refundable.
