Meet Cappy
cappy
Age: 3 years old Sex: Male Breed: Pitty Weight: 52 pounds Good In Home With: Dogs, Kids
A perfectly baked potato, a wise old philosopher, and a young buck with places to be, you’ll find Cappy.
A spectacular little creature he is.
Cappy came to us from Chicago Animal Care & Control, where he had managed to convince just about everyone that he was a terminally ill senior.
The volunteers adored him. The concern was real. His future looked uncertain.
But Cappy?
Well, Cappy apparently had other plans.
Turns out this delicious little gentleman had a whole lot of living left to do.
Today, he’s thriving in foster, revealing himself to be a joyful, affectionate, wonderfully ridiculous young buck with the soul of an old man and the enthusiasm of someone who just discovered life is actually pretty fantastic.
He’s a professional potato.
On the couch? Potato.
In the yard? Free-range potato.
On leash? Adventure potato.
In your heart? Permanent resident.
Cappy has this beautiful way of making the simplest moments feel extraordinary. A walk around the neighborhood. A sunny afternoon. A comfortable couch. A human who loves him.
He’s happy to be part of it all.
That’s his greatest gift.
Cappy moves through the world with gratitude, curiosity, and an infectious appreciation for simply being alive. He’s the kind of dog who reminds you that happiness doesn’t have to be complicated.
His journey took an extraordinary village of volunteers, advocates, caregivers, and fosters who saw something worth fighting for and stayed committed to giving him the chance to thrive.
Now our magnificent little potato is looking for the one thing his story is still missing.
A forever family.
Someone to share the couch, the yard, the walks, the adventures, and all the wonderfully ordinary moments that make a life together so extraordinary.
Cappy isn’t asking for the world.
He just wants someone to enjoy it with.
Come meet Cappy.
Your favorite potato is waiting.
