Julie believes dogs are more than just companions; they are sentient beings who communicate through a pure, unconditional love that can heal the human heart. She has always felt a soul-level connection to them. They naturally gravitate toward her, and she feels a deep responsibility to nurture and care for them. This is not simply a passion, but a fundamental part of who she is.

Her life has been shaped by the “underdogs” she has raised, from a dog rescued off the streets to a survivor of Hurricane Katrina. These experiences taught her resilience long before she began her career as a teacher and later earned her Master’s in Social Work. As a social worker, she is driven to help those in need, and she believes that mission extends to animals who are often overlooked in high-kill shelters.

She believes every dog deserves the chance to be seen and loved, never discarded. By joining the MCP board after years as a donor, she has committed herself to protecting these often-forgotten lives. She also strives to lead by example for her three children, showing them that a compassionate world is one where every living being is protected and valued.
