A little woodland creature decided to become a dog.

We’d like to introduce the result.

Luka.

One year old. 40 pounds. A glorious collection of shaggy, multicolored hair, ridiculously good looks, and a heart that seems to have been made entirely out of sunshine.

This kid is a walking celebration of life.

Luka came dangerously close to losing his chance at a future when an overwhelming number of incoming dogs meant space had to be made at the shelter.

He wasn’t out of time because of who he was, the shelter was full and his week was up. 

Thank goodness we did, because the world deserves to know this magnificent little creature.

Luka is an equal opportunity lover of absolutely everyone.

Dogs? Wonderful.

Humans? Every last one of them.

Happy people, grumpy people, the mailman, your neighbors, and possibly the Holy Ghost himself.

Luka would like to meet them all.

He’s outgoing, affectionate, curious, and has the kind of generous spirit that makes friendship seem like the easiest thing in the world.

His shaggy little body is perfectly sized for adventures, neighborhood strolls, and eventually becoming one with your couch. He’s a young dog with a whole beautiful life ahead of him, and he’d love nothing more than to spend it included in yours.

Luka doesn’t know how close he came to never getting this chance.

He just knows the world is full of people worth loving, dogs worth befriending, and wonderful things still waiting to happen.

There is something particularly special about his name— it means bringer of light, which his is exactly. 

He’s 40 pounds of heartbeat.

A shaggy little heartthrob.

A best friend waiting for his people to realize they’ve been missing him all along.
