Caught by Animal Control officers in the outer edges of LA and brought to one of its deadliest shelters.

The shelter was full.

Scared, cowering, trying to disappear into the back of his noisy cement cell.

But one kind stranger saw what others missed: a flicker of light in his eyes.

The boy peeking out from his self-constructed turtle shell, hoping against hope.

Now safe, Mush is stepping into his second chapter — softly, bravely, beautifully.

He’s cautious but curious, soulful and sweet, a quiet-hearted creature who feels his way forward.

He doesn’t give his love freely.

But when he does — it’s sacred.

Given time, he bonds deeply.

He’d thrive with a social dog to show him the ropes.

Our wish for him: A loving pack. A steady rhythm. A safe place to stay, forever.
