Meet Odin

Odin

Age: 2 years old Sex: Male Breed: Giant Schnauzer Weight: 87 pounds Good In Home With: Dogs

A day in the life of:

The prince himself, wakes us up when he has to go outside. He loves his walks. He is 10000% house broken. Then he pushes around his food bowl as he is a walking alarm clock and knows EXACTLY when it’s meal time.  He’s pretty chill in the house. He isn’t a big chewer and doesn’t destroy his stuffies. Where you go, he goes. Without exception. He’s curious about every single thing you’re doing. He naps off and on through the day and will tell you if he needs to go outside. He’ll either bop his head on the door handle or grab his leash. It’s amazing. He’s just starting to understand how to play with Graham, who is 6lbs. For a long time he just ignored him. Recently he’s learning how to play and tries to offer toys to Graham. It’s adorable.

He doesn’t need an active home. He’ll walk forever if you have the time, the loves being outside, but he’s also perfectly ok if you’re short on time and can only give him a quick walk. He could care less about rain, snow or cold. To him it’s outside time and he’s pumped. He needs some training when passing people outside. He wants to say hello to everyone but his idea of ‘hello’ is typically jumping on them. We’re working on that, as his little heart breaks when people don’t want to say “hi” to him. He stands and stares as they walk away. He knows all his basic commands -  sit, down, paw, stay, off, come, and no. He also has pretty good recall. He’s very smart and VERY VERY food motivated so he’s a breeze to train. All in all he’s pretty easy. Very sweet, silly, different in his own right— dream job is lapdog, as he has no idea his size. As much as he loves people and attention, he is just fine left when left alone and is left free roam.
