Meet Paxil
Paxil
Age: 1 year old Sex: Male Breed: Hound Mix Weight: 58 pounds Good In Home With: Dogs
There’s a certain kind of dog who feels less like a pet and more like a little character who wandered out of a story and into your living room. Paxil is exactly that.
At just one year old and 58 pounds, Paxil is a wonderfully low riding hound dog with a long body and legs that somehow still seem too short for his enthusiasm. His body moves with that classic hound looseness—ears bouncing, tail swinging, eyes bright with curiosity about whatever life might bring next, hence his name
But Paxil isn’t just funny looking in the most lovable way. He’s deeply tuned into connection. What he wants most in the world is softness, kindness, and the feeling that he belongs right in the middle of his people.
The world can feel a little big to him sometimes, which is why Paxil thrives with another social dog in the home. Other dogs help him read the room, settle into new moments, and remind him that everything is going to be just fine. With a dog friend beside him, Paxil blossoms into the happiest, most relaxed version of himself.
And once he feels safe… his quirks begin to shine.
Paxil has a very serious nightly ritual where he counts the steps to his dinner bowl. Not metaphorically—very deliberately. Step by step he marches over, and once dinner is finished, he expects exactly that many pets in return as payment for his culinary journey.
He’s also a master of positioning. If there are two humans sitting on a couch, Paxil will carefully wedge himself directly between them, perfectly centered, ensuring that both hands are available for maximum cuddling efficiency. If there are three people? Even better. Paxil considers that a personal achievement.
At his heart, Paxil is gentle, affectionate, and hilariously himself—a dog who brings warmth, laughter, and a little bit of wonderfully strange charm to every room he enters.
He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t just join a family.
He becomes the character everyone talks about.
