Meet Rooster

Rooster

Rooster is a little over a year old, but in reality he was only just born. When Rooster was found was a stray and came to us, we thought he was quite possibly the calmest puppy that ever lived. When we took him in to be neutered, we found out why that was. Rooster had a congenital heart defect where his pulmonary valve (the valve between his right ventricle and the value to his lung) was not opened properly. Therefore, his blood was forced to flow through a much smaller hole causing his heart to have a much harder workload. This made Rooster extremely tired, and he was at risk of losing his life at any moment.

Fast forward to a cardiac surgery where they placed a balloon in, and his gradient pressure dropped from 125 to 25 the morning after surgery, and then even a few points more, bringing it to absolutely perfect at 20! Now that Rooster’s heart isn’t running on overdrive 24/7, he finally has the chance to be the puppy he never was. With these hearts surgeries, dogs are expected to have normal life expectancy. Rooster is running and playing, and enjoying every minute of this new life. His amazing foster Mama takes him on adventures regularly, which is something he has decided he thoroughly enjoys.

Watching Rooster do a 180 in his lust for life, is everything we strive for. Giving these Rescue dogs a second chance. He loves playing fetch, doing anything outdoors, and lounging on the couch with his peoples. He absolutely loves dogs as well! He is a very happy, loving and curious little boy that is ready for his forever home.
