Meet Jackie

Jackie

Age: 2 years old Sex: Female Breed: Great Pyrenees Weight: 90 pounds Good In Home With: Dogs, Kids

By the time anyone met her, you’d never guess how much the big white cloud had already lived through.

She arrived with that classic Great Pyrenees float—like she was half dog, half daydream—head tilted, eyes soft, tail making lazy question marks in the air. At first, she took everything in quietly: the sounds, the smells, the people, the dogs. You could almost see her taking notes on the world: Okay, that’s a toy. That’s a treat. That’s a couch. That’s a human who looks like they might need a hug. Within a week, she had gone from cautious guest to household committee chair, in charge of morale and quality control for all snacks and snuggles.

Her funny bone showed up first. She has this habit of backing up and sitting on you like a 90-pound weighted blanket with opinions. If you’re on a Zoom call, she’ll gently rest her chin on your keyboard and “send” whatever email you were afraid to write. If you’re folding laundry, she’ll flop right in the middle of the pile, roll upside down, and stare at you with her paws in the air like, Surely this can wait—have you tried kissing my nose instead? She doesn’t demand attention with chaos; she invites you into her goofy, gentle orbit.

Then her kindness started to shine in all the small ways. She checks on everyone—dog, human, or random houseplant that looked a little droopy. With other dogs, she’s the cool aunt who can keep up with the wrestle-and-chase but also knows when to lay down and let the puppies climb all over her. In a room full of people, she circulates like a furry host, making sure no one is left out of the petting schedule. If you’re having a rough day, she somehow knows and just leans her whole warm body against your legs until you remember to breathe again.

Playtime is her favorite part of the day, but she’s not all gas pedal and no brakes. She loves romping around a yard, going on neighborhood walks where every new smell might be important news, and having friends—canine or human—to say hi to. She’s social, she’s curious, and she loves being part of a life that has movement and joy in it. But once she’s had her fun? She’s the queen of balance. Lights dim, TV on, and she’s curled into you on the couch like she’s been your dog for a hundred years.

Her true superpower, though, is cuddling. This is a big girl with an advanced degree in Spooning. She’ll tuck herself along your legs in bed, sigh the deepest, most contented sigh, and suddenly “just one episode” turns into an early night because nothing feels safer than falling asleep with a Great Pyrenees breathing softly at your side. She doesn’t just want a place to sleep, she wants a person, or a family, to belong to—someone who understands that affection is her native language.

She’s ready now for her forever chapter: a home that matches her heart. She’s looking for a social and physically engaging environment—walks, visitors, dog friends, a yard if she can get it—but only if it comes with the major benefits package: generous spooning, regular couch time, and non-negotiable daily cuddles. If you’ve been hoping for a dog who makes you laugh, keeps you grounded, and reminds you that life is better with fur on your clothes and a giant head in your lap, she might just be your girl.
