Mustard.
Out little Los Angeles coyote turned Chicago hot dog.
The saddest little backstory and the biggest comeback energy.
Let’s break it down:
Mustard’s person got locked up, and this sweet boy got dumped at a Los Angeles high-intake, high volume, high kill shelter.
He was terrified. Didn’t bark, didn’t bite, didn’t cause a scene — just curled up in his cubby and tried to disappear. And you know what happens to scared, shut-down dogs in overcrowded shelters? They get a deadline.
But Mustard wasn’t broken — just heartbroken. So we did what we do and got him OUT of there.
Now? This boy is slowly coming back to life. He’s gentle. Dog friendly. Soft like a daydream and twice as sweet. The kind of guy who doesn’t need the spotlight — just a cozy corner, a calm friend (or a few), and someone who sees how special he is.
Mustard is the king of crawl into your heart the minute you meet him. He’s the quiet, loyal, low-key companion who absolutely melts into you once he knows he’s safe.
He’s already stealing hearts left and right — now he just needs his person.
If you’re the patient, ride-or-die type who loves a good glow-up story, Mustard’s waiting.
Come get your boy.
