Shayne comes from the South, and he truly puts the gentleman in southern charm.

Every note in his shelter record read the same way: dainty, gentle, kind, social, warm, friendly, playful, easy going, great on leash, wants to cuddle, great in playgroup, very tolerant. In a stressed out shelter environment, those kinds of notes are rare. Shayne kept earning them anyway.

He traveled all the way up here to us because local rescues overlooked him, likely because of his ear. Somewhere along the way it must have had an injury, and now it sits a little differently than the rest. It causes him no pain, no discomfort. At this point it’s simply an accent mark on his perfection.

We saw something special in him and made the call to bring him north, he proved us right the entire way.

His foster, who has welcomed many dogs before him, put it best:

“So here’s the scoop. Theo absolute most ‘roll with it’ dog I’ve ever met. Long haul from Texas. New people. New dog. Cool. All of it. Wrestle? Cool. Chill? Cool. Kids? Cool. Kisses? Absolutely.”

Easygoing, loving, adaptable in the most beautiful way. The kind of dog who brings calm into a room and joy into the day without even trying.

He’s 1.5 years old, about 80 pounds, and truly one of those dogs who makes the world a better place simply by existing in it. Whoever gets to call him forever will be unbelievably lucky to share their life with such a magical soul.
